Simon Breakspear is an education innovator, researcher and speaker. He is on a mission to radically change how the world learns.
Simon is recognised internationally as a leading thinker on the future of learning and educational innovation. As the founder of the global education consultancy LearnLabs, Simon works to help school, system, policy and business leaders to design and deliver high-impact strategies to enable 21st Century learning. He has worked with and spoken to leaders across Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, Israel, Hong Kong and India.
As a passionate educator and innovation strategist, Simon works on systemic challenges in education reform and redesign. He has contributed to the OECD’s PISA and Innovative Learning Environments projects. In 2012, Simon co-founded LearnShift India, a cross-sector network of leaders working to design innovative solutions for educational transformation in India. He also advises entrepreneurial ventures that are seeking to harness disruptive learning models to improve the quality and equity of learning across emerging markets. Simon is the co-author of “Talent Magnets” a highly practical and acclaimed white paper on attracting, retaining and developing quality teachers and the founder and curator of emerging educational leaders summits across APAC, which seek to incubate the next generation of innovative school leaders.
Simon holds a first class honours degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Teaching, a MSc. in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford, and is a PhD Candidate at the University of Cambridge. He was a Gates Scholar at the University of Cambridge, and Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Oxford
